2002 – 2011 Summers
Professional Developer, Math Solutions/Marilyn Burns Education Associates
Designed and implemented 5-day summer mathematics courses for K – 8 teachers in school districts across the United States (approximately 120 teachers at each course, 2 – 4 courses each summer).
Facilitated sessions that focused on the strands of arithmetic, number theory, geometry, measurement, algebra and statistics as well as cognitive aspects of the teaching and learning of mathematics.
1998 – 2002
Lead Teacher, Project Challenge, Boston University/Chelsea Public Schools Partnership, Chelsea, MA
Worked closely with Dr. Suzanne Chapin (PI) on the design and implementation of this federally-funded research project to support the development of mathematical talent in urban elementary and middle school students.
Taught mathematics daily to approximately 100 students per grade, Grades 4 – 7.
Mentored over 20 district elementary and middle school teachers via coaching sessions, co-teaching, and after-school workshops.
